Leonardo ritratto da giovane ( SiamotuttiLeonardo, LDV), Eastport Maine 2018 – 2020

A Eastport, Maine, ho iniziato a lavorare su un file in digitale e con pochi tratti di disegno manuale sul ritratto di Leonardo da giovane ripensando al personaggio di Stephen Dedalus da “Portrait of the artist as a Young Man” di James Joyce.

Tutte le ricerche dovevano servire a rendere la versione frontale del profilo disegnato tra il 1515-18 circa e di proprietà della Royal Collection inglese al castello di Windsor, l’unico ritratto di Leonardo mentre era in vita, a 62-63 anni.

Il progetto e’ diventato anche un’esposizione da viaggio, con gadgets e stampe raccolte in una valigia da reporter per fare mostre e lectures estemporanee sul personaggio storico e contemporaneo allo stesso tempo. La tecnica usata per le riproduzioni del file e’ a stampa alla gomma su carta.

Leonado da Vinci’s portrait as a young Man ( We all are Leonardo, LDV), Eastport Maine,

In Eastport, Maine, I started working on a digital file and with a few strokes of hand drawing on the portrait of Leonardo as a young man, thinking back to the character of Stephen Dedalus from “Portrait of the artist as a Young Man” by James Joyce.

All the research was useful to make the frontal version of the profile apparently drawn between 1515-18 and owned by the English Royal Collection at Windsor Castle, the only portrait of Leonardo drawn while he was alive, at 62-63 years old.

The project also became a travel exhibition, with gadgets and prints collected in a reporter’s suitcase to make impromptu exhibitions and lectures on the historical and contemporary character at the same time.The technique used for file reproductions is gum printing on paper.
